Gig workers and platform workers: central government may establish social security schemes with aggregator contribution obligations. Central Government may notify social security schemes for gig and platform workers covering life, disability, accident, health, maternity, old age, creche and other benefits; schemes may govern administration, implementing agencies, aggregator roles and funding. Funding may include Central/State allotments, aggregator contributions, beneficiary payments, CSR or other sources. Aggregator contributions will be notified between one and two per cent of annual turnover, capped at five per cent of amounts paid to workers; turnover excludes taxes. The National Social Security Board will oversee welfare with specified membership, and the Central Government may prescribe collection, interest, self-assessment, cessation conditions and exemptions.
