Categories of hazardous, outdoor and mechanical occupations are designated as employees under the Code's proviso for social security coverage. The schedule lists categories of persons treated as employees within the meaning of the third proviso to clause (26) of section 2 of the Code on Social Security, 2020, covering hazardous, outdoor, mechanical and transport-related occupations. It specifies place- and task-based inclusions-railways, manufacturing premises using mechanical or electrical power, ship and port operations, mining, explosives handling, construction and demolition above specified heights, telegraph/overhead electrical line work, agricultural mechanisation, well and pumping equipment work, sewer cleaning, diving, radioactive substances handling, aircraft and cinema-related work, and other occupations previously covered by the Employees Compensation Act, 1923.
