Employee's compensation: competent authority can require further deposit after show cause and award deficiency payment
Section 94 empowers the competent authority to require an employer to show cause and make further deposit where an initial compensation deposit for a fatal workplace injury is deemed insufficient; the authority must give written reasons and a time for compliance, and if the employer fails to satisfy the authority, the authority may determine the total payable compensation and require the employer to deposit the deficiency. The provision prescribes a procedural show-cause step followed by authority power to make an award fixing the total amount and ordering payment of any shortfall.
