<h1>Maternity benefit no deduction of wages for assigned work or nursing breaks, protection comes into force 21 November 2025</h1> Section provides that a woman entitled to maternity benefit shall not suffer any deduction from her normal and usual daily wages solely because of the nature of work assigned under related provisions or because of breaks allowed for nursing the child; this operates to protect wage continuity during assigned work duties and authorised nursing breaks. The provision becomes enforceable from 21 November 2025, thereby preventing employers from reducing daily wages for the specified reasons from that date.
