New Scheme Allows Exporters to Import Capital Goods with Duty Scrips; Conditions Apply Under EPCG Duty Credit Scrip Scheme.
The Post Export EPCG Duty Credit Scrip Scheme allows exporters to import capital goods by paying full applicable duties in cash. The Basic Customs duty paid is reimbursed through transferable duty credit scrips. Exporters receive a post export EPCG authorization marked 'Not for imports,' with specific export obligations (EO) set at 85% of the specified EO. The EO period starts from the authorization issue date, and conditions include installation and non-disposal of goods until the last export date. Upon fulfilling EO, a duty credit scrip is issued, valid for 18 months, for duty debits during import.
