Cancellation of warehouse licence: authority may cancel after hearing and suspend operations, halting new deposits.
Section 58B authorises the Principal Commissioner or Commissioner to cancel a warehouse licence for contraventions or breaches after giving a reasonable opportunity of being heard, and to suspend warehouse operations during the enquiry. No goods may be deposited while suspension is in force, though the Chapter continues to apply to goods already deposited. On cancellation, goods must be removed to another warehouse or cleared for home consumption or export within seven days of service of the cancellation order or within any extended period allowed by the proper officer.
