Customs Risk Management Committees Review Import Trends, Assess Goods, and Report to National Targeting Centre Monthly
A Local Risk Management (LRM) Committee, led by the Commissioner of Customs, operates in each Custom House, Air Cargo Complex, or Inland Container Depot where the Risk Management System (RMS) is implemented. The committee includes officials from the Special Investigation and Intelligence Branch, Audit, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, and Directorate of Valuation. Meeting monthly, the LRM Committee reviews import trends, assesses and examines goods, evaluates the RMS's performance, and decides on local interventions. It also sends periodic reports to the National Customs Targeting Centre with the Principal Commissioner's approval.
