Customs facility classification governs distinct operational duties of inland container depots, container freight stations and air freight stations. An ICD is a self contained Customs station performing filing, assessment, examination, warehousing and other clearance functions with its own automated station code. A CFS is a notified Customs area linked to a parent Customs station that mainly facilitates examination, stuffing/de stuffing and cargo aggregation while core manifest processing and assessment occur at the parent Custom House. An AFS is an off airport facility for handling and temporary storage of air cargo.
