The Customs Manual 2023 outlines procedures for the clearance of goods under the Project Import Scheme. Previously, importers had to provide a Project Contract Registration Number for each Bill of Entry, which was then assessed by the Project Import Group. To streamline this process, the Project Imports module was introduced in the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES), as detailed in Advisory 13/2019. This module automates registration, bond registration, provisional Bill of Entry filing, and finalization processes, reducing manual intervention and improving efficiency.
