Restoring AEO Status: Conditions for Compliance, License Revocation, and Duty Dispute Ratio Under CBEC's Customs Manual 2023
Restoration of suspended or downgraded Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) status involves specific conditions under the CBEC's Customs Manual 2023. If an AEO holder rectifies non-compliance issues within 60 days, the AEO Programme Manager may restore the status. Restoration is also possible if the suspension of the basic license is revoked. If a show cause notice is issued, restoration may occur if the ratio of disputed duty or drawback is within ten percent of the total duty paid. Entities with downgraded status can reapply for a higher status upon meeting eligibility criteria, following the original application process.
