Risk-Based Processing of Shipping Bills with Duty Drawback Claims Initiated; RMS Determines Review Necessity per 2000 Circular.
Risk-based processing of shipping bills with duty drawback claims began on July 26, 2021. The Systems Directorate and NCTC have implemented system changes to facilitate this. Shipping bills are evaluated based on risk criteria after filing a complete EGM and are sent to RMS. RMS determines if a shipping bill can be processed without intervention or requires review by a Customs officer, depending on the threshold specified in a 2000 circular. Customs officers will continue necessary checks for bills routed to them, and the procedure for paying duty drawback amounts to exporters remains unchanged.
