Welfare facilities: employers must provide prescribed washing, bathing, canteens, first aid and creche arrangements and lodging for construction workers. Employers must provide and maintain prescribed welfare facilities including separate washing, bathing and locker facilities for male, female and transgender employees; clothing storage and drying; seating for those obliged to stand; canteens where one hundred or more workers are employed; pre employment and periodic medical examinations in mines; accessible first aid boxes; and other measures deemed necessary by the Central Government. The Central Government may also prescribe ambulance rooms (>500 workers), medical and protective amenities for transport workers, shelters and lunch rooms (>50 workers), welfare officers (>250 workers), temporary living accommodation for building workers, and creche facilities for children under six.
