Occupational Safety, Health And Working Conditions Code notice of certain diseases imposes employer and medical reporting duties with penalties
Section 12 prescribes mandatory notification for diseases listed in the Third Schedule: employers must notify prescribed authorities in the prescribed form and time when a worker contracts any such disease, and qualified medical practitioners attending current or former workers believed to have such disease must immediately report in prescribed form and time to the Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator. Failure by a qualified medical practitioner to report attracts a penal consequence with a fine that may extend to ten thousand rupees. The provision establishes employer and medical reporting obligations and a monetary penalty for practitioner non-compliance.
