<h1>Occupational safety and health code repeals specified labour Acts and preserves prior appointments and instruments until superseded.</h1> The Code repeals a specified list of labour enactments on the date of the notification under section 1(2). Officers appointed under the repealed enactments are deemed appointed under the Code for the same purposes. Acts, rules, notifications and appointments made under the repealed laws are deemed to have been done under corresponding Code provisions and remain in force unless contrary to the Code until repealed by the Central Government. Provisions analogous to section 6 of the General Clauses Act govern the repeal.
