Employers must ensure workplaces are free from hazards and comply with occupational safety and health standards, provide and maintain a safe working environment, arrange safe handling and disposal of hazardous substances including e waste, offer prescribed annual health examinations free of cost, issue appointment letters in prescribed form, and, especially in factories, mines, docks, construction and plantations, provide safe plant, safe access and egress, training and supervision, and workplace welfare facilities to secure health and safety.
