<h1>Contravention of labour code employment rules for workers, women, audiovisual and under-18 mine labour; penalties, repeat-offence jail or higher fine</h1> Any person who, except as permitted under the Code, contravenes any provision of the Code or any rule, regulation or bye-law, or any order regulating employment of workers (including women, audio-visual workers, contract labour and persons under eighteen in mines) is liable to a monetary penalty of not less than fifty thousand rupees and up to one lakh rupees. A person subsequently convicted again for an offence under the same provision is punishable with imprisonment for a term of up to three months, or a fine of up to two lakh rupees, or both.
