of <h1>State-set factory chemical exposure limits bind owners; they must ensure workplace levels do not exceed prescribed values</h1> The provision prescribes that the maximum permissible limits of exposure to chemical and toxic substances in manufacturing processes in any factory shall be the values prescribed by the State Government; accordingly, the statutory standard for permissible exposure is delegated to the State Government to determine, and those prescribed limits are binding on factories engaged in manufacturing processes within the State, obliging owners and occupiers to ensure workplace exposure does not exceed the prescribed values.
