Inspector-cum-Facilitators appointments, powers, inspection schemes, and reporting requirements govern workplace inspections and oversight.
Section 34 empowers the appropriate Government to notify appointments of Inspector-cum-Facilitators and to require inspections, including web-based and alternative special inspections, and to provide for randomised selection under a notified inspection scheme. The scheme may assign unique identifiers to establishments, inspectors and inspections, mandate timely uploading of reports, specify criteria for special inspections and account for employment and workplace characteristics. The Government may appoint hierarchical Chief and other inspectorial officers, delegate or restrict powers by notification, prohibit appointing persons with conflicts of interest, appoint public officers additionally, and declares such officers as public servants.
