Apprenticeship contracts require written agreement with personal consent and parental covenant for minors
An apprentice is defined as a person bound by legal agreement to serve an employer for an agreed period, with the employer obligated to provide instruction. The apprenticeship contract must be in writing to be enforceable. The apprentice must personally execute the contract with their own consent, as no one else can bind them. For minors, parents or guardians typically also execute the contract to covenant for performance, since minors cannot be sued on their own covenant. The contract is only binding on minors if beneficial to them. Masters need not execute the deed, but corporations may take apprentices. The apprentice undergoes training pursuant to the apprenticeship contract.
