Cleanliness and hygiene in factories require sanitary workplaces, dry floors, dust control, and safe arrangements for wet work processes. Employer of every factory must maintain all workplaces, workrooms, passageways, staircases, storerooms and service rooms in sanitary and hygienic condition, keep walls, ceilings, windows and skylights clean, and ensure workroom floors remain clean and, so far as reasonably practicable, dry and non-slippery. For wet work processes, effective drainage, dry standing places, and anti-skid footwear and other suitable safety and protective gear must be provided without expense to employees.
