Exemption from hours of work restrictions applies in mines for supervisory, technical, and specified managerial personnel. Exemption from the restrictions on hours of work and limitation of employment applies in mines to persons occupying supervisory, managerial or confidential positions, including managers, deputy managers, installation managers, fire officers, assistant managers, ventilation officers, safety officers, information technology, instrumentation and communication officials. The exemption also covers mining, electrical and mechanical engineers and other specified technical and welfare personnel. The Central Government may extend the exemption to any other person by general or special order from time to time.
