Mine worker training is required before re-employment after long absence, serious accident, or job change. Training is required before a person is re-employed in a mine after an absence of more than one year, after a serious accident or dangerous occurrence that could have threatened life and safety, or when the person is assigned to a different job from the one previously performed. The training must be carried out in accordance with the training scheme specified under the applicable rules.
