Shelter and rest room facilities require separate, hygienic lunchrooms, with water, seating and free worker amenities. Employers of factories, mines and motor transport undertakings must provide a sufficient and suitable lunchroom with drinking water and washing facilities where the employment threshold or night-halting condition applies. The facilities must be kept separately for male, female and transgender employees, and compliance is deemed where a canteen maintained under the relevant canteen rule already exists. Shelter, rest room and lunch room facilities must be adequately lighted and ventilated, kept clean and hygienic, built with heat-resisting walls and roof, and furnished with suitable seating and eating arrangements. In motor transport undertakings, workers are also to be supplied free of charge with uniforms, raincoats and similar amenities.
