<h1>Authority may order Central Government purchase of immovable property with strict limitation periods and notice, grounds, and service requirements</h1> On receipt of the statement under the related provision, the appropriate authority may order purchase by the Central Government of an immovable property at the apparent consideration, notwithstanding other laws or agreements, subject to strict limitation periods (normally two months, three months for statements received on/after 1 June 1993) which are recalculated where rectified statements are filed, where jurisdictional transfer of the statement occurs, or where a court stay is vacated. Before making the order the authority must afford a reasonable opportunity to interested parties, state the grounds for the order, and serve the order on the transferor, occupier, transferee and known interested persons.
