of <h1>Ninth Schedule of Income-tax Act, 1961, Omitted by 1986 Amendment, Effective April 1, 1988</h1> The Ninth Schedule of the Income-tax Act, 1961, was omitted by the Taxation Laws (Amendment & Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1986, effective from April 1, 1988. Initially introduced by the Direct Taxes (Amendment) Act, 1974, effective from April 1, 1975, the Ninth Schedule underwent several amendments through various Finance Acts between 1975 and 1984. These amendments were made effective on different dates ranging from 1976 to 1985 before the schedule's eventual omission in 1988.
