<h1>Section 30A of Customs Act: Conveyance Heads Must Submit Passenger Info Pre-Arrival or Face 50K Penalty.</h1> Section 30A of the Customs Act, 1962, requires the person in charge of a conveyance entering India from abroad to deliver a passenger and crew arrival manifest and passenger name record information to the proper officer. This must be done before arrival for aircraft or vessels and upon arrival for vehicles, in a prescribed form and manner. Failure to comply without sufficient cause may result in a penalty of up to fifty thousand rupees. This provision was inserted by the Finance Act of 2017.
