Illegal export control powers allow specification of goods for targeted customs enforcement and detection measures. The Central Government may notify goods of a specified class or description when, in view of the magnitude of their illegal export, special measures are expedient in the public interest to check such export or facilitate detection of goods likely to be illegally exported. The provision creates a preventive customs power directed to classes of goods associated with illegal export and allows targeted specification where additional enforcement measures are required.
