of <h1>Section 76E, Customs Act 1962, Exemption for Special Economic Zone Goods Removed by Finance Act 2007, Effective May 11.</h1> Section 76E of the Customs Act, 1962, which provided for the exemption of customs duties on goods admitted to a Special Economic Zone, has been omitted by the Finance Act 2007, effective from May 11, 2007. Prior to its omission, this section allowed goods entering a Special Economic Zone to be exempt from customs duties, subject to the provisions of sections 76F, 76G, and 76H.
