Customs exemptions for certain conveyances and emergency entries limit the application of key cargo reporting provisions. Section 43 exempts certain conveyances from customs provisions relating to imported or exported goods. Vehicles carrying only occupants' luggage are excluded from sections 30, 41 and 42. The Central Government may also notify exemptions for conveyances belonging to the Government or a foreign Government, and for vessels or aircraft temporarily entering India because of an emergency.
