Power to require production of clearance orders enables customs officers to demand land-import permits for suspected imported goods. Customs officers appointed for areas adjoining the land frontier and empowered by the Board may require any person possessing goods reasonably believed to have been imported by land to produce the order permitting clearance; the power excludes goods moving from a land frontier to a land customs station by an officially appointed route.
