of <h1>Customs Officers Can Demand Clearance Orders for Land-Imported Goods per Section 109 of the Customs Act, 1962.</h1> Section 109 of the Customs Act, 1962, authorizes customs officers near India's land frontiers to demand the production of clearance orders for goods believed to be imported by land. These officers, empowered by the Board, can request individuals in possession of such goods to show the order issued under Section 47, which permits clearance. However, this requirement does not apply to goods moving from a land frontier to a land customs station via routes designated under Section 7(c).
