of <h1>Special provisions relating to lay-off, retrenchment and closure extend specified Chapter IX protections to covered industrial establishments.</h1> Section 82 prescribes that specified provisions of Chapter IXnamely sections 66, 71, 72, 73 and 76shall, so far as may be, apply to industrial establishments governed by the Chapter for special provisions relating to lay-off, retrenchment and closure; the legal effect is to import those Chapter IX protections and obligations into the regime for such establishments, ensuring that the procedural and substantive safeguards concerning lay-off, retrenchment and closure operate in relation to these covered industrial establishments.
