Presiding officers of labour tribunals continue as judicial members under the new code if they meet qualification requirements. Section 52 provides that a presiding officer of a Labour Court, Tribunal, or National Tribunal holding office immediately before commencement of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, who is qualified to be appointed under the Code, shall be the Judicial Member of the Tribunal or National Industrial Tribunal and shall continue as such for the remaining period of his office.
