Central government may amend statutory schedules by notification subject to parliamentary laying, modification or annulment within prescribed review period. Section 101 grants the Central Government authority to add, alter or amend the First, Second or Third Schedules by notification, which shall be deemed effective on issuance. Every such notification must be laid before each House of Parliament for a total of thirty days across one or more sessions, and if both Houses agree within the following session to modify or annul the notification, it will take effect only as modified or be of no effect; such modification or annulment does not prejudice the validity of anything previously done under the notification.
