Industrial establishments exemption power allows conditional or unconditional exemptions by notification for public interest and transitional state notifications remain effective. Section 96 authorises the appropriate Government to exempt, conditionally or unconditionally by notification, any industrial establishment or class of establishments from provisions of the Industrial Relations Code where adequate provisions exist to achieve the Code's objects. It separately permits exemptions for new industrial establishments or classes of new establishments in the public interest for a period specified in the notification, and preserves pre-existing State notifications under the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for their remaining period where they serve the same purpose.
