Assessors or valuers can be appointed to assist technical enquiries, with remuneration fixed by the appointing body. The rule authorises the Tribunal to call in up to two assessors or valuers with technical or special knowledge to assist in an enquiry into a claim, to perform functions as directed by the Tribunal, and gives the Tribunal authority to determine and specify payment of any remuneration.
