<h1>Taking of specimen handwriting, signature or fingerprint under NCLT Rules allows commissioner to collect witness specimens for identification and verification.</h1> Rule 145 of the NCLT Rules, 2016 authorises the Commissioner to take specimens of a witnesss handwriting, signature or fingerprint when necessary. The provision confers a power of collection of physical identification samples from any witness examined before the Commissioner, enabling evidential identification and comparison procedures in tribunal proceedings. The legal effect is to permit directed collection of such specimens for verification and forensic comparison, subject to procedural safeguards and relevance to the examination being conducted under the tribunal rules.
