        Extortion by causing hurt: criminal liability with severe custodial sentence and fine for compelling property or illegal acts. Voluntary hurt inflicted to extort property or to coerce a person into doing something illegal is punishable by imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years and a fine. Where the act causes grievous hurt for the same purposes, the offender is liable to imprisonment for life or imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to ten years, and also to fine.
