<h1>Inflicting hurt with dangerous weapons under Section 118 may lead to life imprisonment or hefty fines.</h1> Section 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, addresses the voluntary infliction of hurt or grievous hurt using dangerous weapons or means. It stipulates that causing hurt with instruments like firearms, sharp objects, fire, poison, or harmful substances can result in imprisonment for up to three years, a fine of up to twenty thousand rupees, or both. Causing grievous hurt using similar means can lead to life imprisonment or a term ranging from one to ten years, along with a fine. Exceptions are noted in Section 122.
