Expert assistance: commissions may direct individuals or organisations to assist where matters affect larger consumer interests. The statute empowers a commission to require assistance from any individual, organisation or expert when a matter involves the larger interest of consumers, permitting the commission, on application or on its own motion, to direct such assistance to support its proceedings.
