<h1>District Commission Can Refer Consumer Dispute to Mediation Under Section 37 of Consumer Protection Act, 2019</h1> Section 37 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, allows the District Commission to refer a consumer dispute to mediation if there are elements of a potential settlement acceptable to the parties. This can occur at the first hearing after the complaint's admission or later, except in prescribed cases. Parties must provide written consent within five days to proceed with mediation. Upon receiving consent, the District Commission must refer the matter for mediation within five days, following the provisions outlined in Chapter V of the Act.
