The Act, titled Consumer Protection Act, 2019, extends across India with an exception for one State; commencement of the Act or any provision is to be effected by Central Government notification, with power to appoint different dates for different States and provisions; and, unless expressly otherwise provided by the Central Government, the Act applies to all goods and services.
