of <h1>Foreign Offices from Specific Countries Must Register with State Police in India; Others Exempt</h1> Liaison, Branch, or Project Offices of foreign entities in India are required to register with State Police authorities only if they originate from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Iran, China, Hong Kong, Macau, or Pakistan. For these countries, the approval letter must be sent by the AD Category I bank to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Internal Security Division - I, Government of India, for necessary action and record. Entities from all other countries are exempt from this registration requirement.
