<h1>Cash Payments Up to INR 50,000 Allowed Under MTSS; Larger Sums Require Bank Transfer or Cheque Payment</h1> Amounts up to INR 50,000 can be paid in cash to a beneficiary in India under the Money Transfer Service Scheme (MTSS). These funds can also be loaded onto a prepaid card issued by banks. Amounts exceeding this limit must be paid through account payee cheque, demand draft, payment order, or credited directly to the beneficiary's bank account. In exceptional cases, such as when the beneficiary is a foreign tourist, higher amounts may be disbursed in cash.
