ACU mechanism governs settlement of trade with ACU countries, distinct from the Special Non Resident Rupee arrangement. Trade transactions with ACU countries are governed by Regulation 3(1)(A) and Regulation 5(1)(A) of Notification FEMA 14 (R) and must be settled under the ACU mechanism, kept distinct and separate from the Special Non Resident Rupee arrangement and settled per extant ACU instructions.
