Compounding applications under FEMA require payment of the prescribed application fee payable by demand draft in favour of the Reserve Bank of India or via permitted electronic modes, with GST applicable. Electronic payments must follow the instructions in Annexure I, and applicants must notify the relevant Regional Office, CO Cell or Central Office by email within two hours of payment. Application fees are not refundable if an application is returned, but need not be paid again on re submission.
