Public servant designation: specified Competition Commission and Appellate Tribunal officials deemed public servants when acting under the Act. The Chairperson, Members, Director General, Additional, Joint, Deputy and Assistant Directors General, Secretary and other officers and employees of the Commission, and the Chairperson, Members, officers and employees of the Appellate Tribunal, shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of the Indian Penal Code while acting or purporting to act in pursuance of any provision of the Competition Act, 2002.
