Failure to comply with Commission directions may attract daily penalties, subject to a commission determined maximum. Failure to comply, without reasonable cause, with a direction by the Commission under sub sections (2) and (4) of section 36 or by the Director General under sub section (2) of section 41 shall attract a penalty determined by the Commission which may extend to one lakh rupees per day during such failure, subject to a maximum of one crore rupees.
