<h1>Mediation Council of India membership structure, tenure and age caps set; Central Government to appoint key non-ex officio roles</h1> Prescribes the composition of the Mediation Council of India by specifying categories of members, including a Chairperson, members with mediation/ADR expertise, an academic expert, specified ex officio government representatives, the Chief Executive Officer as Member-Secretary, and a part-time representative of a recognised commerce and industry body, with appointments by the Central Government for designated non-ex officio positions. Fixes the tenure of non-ex officio members at four years with eligibility for re-appointment, subject to maximum age limits of seventy years for the Chairperson and sixty-seven years for other members, and requires at least one full-time member from specified categories where the Chairperson is part-time. Provides that salaries, allowances, and terms for non-ex officio members, and travel/other allowances for the part-time member, shall be as prescribed.
