Mediation Act application: specifies when mediation in India falls under the Act, including government and commercial disputes. The Act applies where mediation is conducted in India and parties habitually reside in, are incorporated in, or have their place of business in India; where the mediation agreement opts into the Act; where the mediation is international; where one party is the Central or State Government or their agencies, public bodies, corporations or local bodies and the matter is a commercial dispute; and to other disputes the Central or State Government may notify for resolution under the Act.
