<h1>Minimum wage structure under the Code: basic pay, cost-of-living allowance, and concessional essentials value, with periodic notified calculations.</h1> Minimum wages fixed or revised under the Code may be structured as (i) a basic wage plus a variable cost of living allowance adjusted at intervals and in the manner directed to align with changes in the applicable cost of living index; (ii) a basic wage with or without such allowance, together with the cash value of authorised concessions for essential commodities supplied at concessional rates; or (iii) an all-inclusive rate comprising the basic wage, the cost of living allowance, and the cash value of any such concessions. The cost of living allowance and the cash value of concessions must be computed by a notified authority at prescribed intervals and in accordance with directions issued from time to time.
